What causes Acne? Whats the difference in a normal Skin and a Skin with Acne?

Acne starts with increase in the activity of the sebaceous gland , which is set deep in the dermis and secretes oil – Sebum.

Sebum comes out of the sebaceous duct or the pores visible on the skin surface.

If the pores get blocked – Sebum or Oil is not able to come out on the skin and starts to swell . Such a blocked pore is called a Closed comedone or whitehead.

When this blocked pore gets infected – it turns red and swells to give rise to a pustular lesion – commonly referred to as Pimple.
